Testimonials

"We went through an exhaustive process of looking at a number of market leading financial management systems. Consilium clearly provided our council with the solution that we were looking for and we appointed them with no hesitation."

Malcolm Vickers, Stafford Borough Council.

Board Of Directors

Consilium Technologies is one of the leading suppliers of IT solutions to Local Government and Housing Associations throughout the UK.

Our success and rapid growth has been underpinned by the financial backing and encouragement of leading venture capitalists 3i and MMC Ventures supporting a focused, experienced and dedicated Board of Directors.

3i is a world leader in private equity and venture capital, and is active across all stages of funding. From early-stage venture capital to growth capital and buyouts, they invest €1.5bn a year in some of the most exciting and ambitious companies in the world.

MMC Ventures invests in fast growing young companies, and comprises a syndicate of sophisticated angel investors who look to add value to each investment made. MMC has a record of excellence in identifying potentially successful enterprises, and Consilium promises to be one of its star investments.

Colin Reid, Chief Executive

Colin, who started Consilium in 1985, began his career in Local Government Finance and IT and has been the driving force behind the company's rapid expansion. Colin has a BA Hons in Business Studies, an MSc in Executive Leadership and a Diploma in Company Direction.

He is a former chairman of Momentum, the ICT trade body for Northern Ireland, and was previously awarded the Northern Ireland IT Professional of the Year by the British Computer Society. Colin was also recognised in the category of IT Personality of the Year at the 2006 GoldenEyeT Awards.

He is married with two grown up daughters, plays golf at well below the Tiger Woods standard, and is an avid Manchester United fan. But then nobody is perfect.

Michael Black, Chairman

Michael is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a Chartered Director. He has been involved in the IT business for the past eight years and has worked in the venture-backed software sector for the last five.

He holds Board positions with three other software companies in Northern Ireland and is CFO with telecoms software specialist Aepona. Michael is also Chief Executive of BlueChip Technologies.

He is married with a son and daughter, and is a dedicated competition fisherman, having represented Ireland at world level for the past six years.

Ronnie Geddis, Sales & Marketing Director

Ronnie joined us in 1986 as a programmer and soon became one of our senior software developers. Knowing the products inside out, as it were, he was ideally suited to move into a sales role in the early 1990s. Having secured more business from throughout the UK, he became Sales Manager.

He joined the Board in 1997 when he was appointed Sales Director. Ronnie is also a Chartered Director.

Ronnie is married with two children and in another life would have been Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page. As it is, he has to settle for playing lead guitar in his own band, The Prairie Dogs.

Bruce Macfarlane, Board Member

Bruce qualified as a lawyer (UK/US) and practised corporate and securities law in New York for several years. He then joined Merrill Lynch, initially as international legal counsel, but transferred to investment banking, ending up as managing director for UK corporate finance in London.

He left Merrill to join Bankers Trust in 1995 as partner and UK country head with the task of building a UK investment banking business. On Deutsche Bank's take-over of Bankers Trust in 1999, Bruce resigned and left the City to establish MMC Ventures Limited, where he is chief executive.

Geoff Henderson, Finance Director

Geoff is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a Chartered Director. He has held a number of senior financial, commercial and management roles in industry since leaving KPMG in 1992.

He joined Consilium in 2004 as Finance Manager, and is primarily responsible for financial control, provision of effective management information, as well as the Administration and HR departments.

When he manages to find some spare time, he likes to spend it on the golf course.
