{BARCELONA, Spain - 14 Feb 2011} - Acting on significant partner and customer demand, TotalMobile, a BlackBerry® Alliance Select Member, today launches its TotalMobile application suite for BlackBerry® smartphones. The application suite will also be available for the new BlackBerry® PlaybookTM tablet later this year. The suite will be officially unveiled at the BlackBerry stand (7B42) in Hall 7, at Mobile World Congress, 14-17 February 2011.
TotalMobile provides its customers with an enterprise-wide set of end user configurable mobile applications managed through its web platform. There are currently 12 applications that can be combined to service many operation areas including: asset maintenance, health and social care, compliance management, inspections and health and safety. The suite provides the missing link to enterprise mobility by catering to field and blue collar workers who need special applications, but also need to be connected to the main business and communication tools like email and the company intranet.
Enterprises stand to benefit significantly by being able to standardise applications on a single mobile platform for the entire workforce, saving on hardware, operator fees, support, maintenance and training. Within mobile service operations, TotalMobile customers have made huge savings across all areas, from simple paper and printing cost savings to increased staff utilisation. One city council stated, "TotalMobile has created £1,570,000 of savings since the project went live."
TotalMobile chose the BlackBerry® platform for its enterprise applications due to its unparalleled management and security credentials and, crucially for mobile workers, the ability to work off-line without compromising the service.
Iain Maclachlan, UK Business Development Director of TotalMobile said, "Working with Research In Motion is a significant milestone in the ongoing development of our mobile application suite and opens the door to the ever-growing global BlackBerry user community. Existing BlackBerry smartphone customers can now leverage the investment they have made in both skills and infrastructure. This gives our customers the ability to deploy BlackBerry smartphones to not only their executives, but also to their blue collar workforce carrying out day-to-day operational tasks in the field."
