Newcastle City Council is to improve the level of care within Adult Services, by mobilising their Home Care staff. Through implementing the TotalMobile solution from Consilium and providing staff with Motorola devices, Home Care staff will now be able to carry out more of their task away from the office, improving the standard of care provided to their service users.
250 staff members are to be provided with the TotalMobile solution on Motorola ES400 devices. This enables them to securely access relevant user information via their mobile device, meaning that staff can review a client’s background, history and any other relevant details that are fundamental in ensuring that service users receive the highest standard of care. Furthermore, case related forms will now be completed on the staff member’s device, which then instantly updates office records, meaning that more time can be spent attending to service users, due to levels of staff administrative being drastically reduced.
Newcastle City Council has had success in the past from implementing TotalMobile into others areas of the organisation and have seen a range of benefits arise, including a 10% increase in productivity, reduced sickness levels and cost reductions in various areas such as fuel, paper and accommodation. All these benefits and more are now set to transpire within Home Care.
