Consilium calls for haste approach to t-gov

User group set to discuss the steps to transformational government success

Consilium Technologies is warning local authorities not to rush transformational government (t-gov) programmes in a bid to meet citizens’ increasing expectations.

The company is advising that if t-gov is to be achieved, project benchmarks and targets must be put in place now to ensure long-term success rather than a quick fix approach.

By keeping the citizen experience front of mind in all activities, local authorities will be able to present a realistic timeline to their citizens of what to expect.

Colin Reid, Consilium’s chief executive, will be leading a discussion on the issues and the steps to ensure t-gov success at the company’s annual user conference. Over 150 customers from across the UK will meet in Newcastle, County Down, on September 20-21, 2006.

Also presenting at the event will be a number of Consilium customers including Swindon Commercial Services and Ellesmere Port & Neston as well as Consilum’s CTO, Gareth Tolerton.
