With £1.165bn of cuts on the way many organisations are looking to streamline their processes and improve efficiencies. Mobile Working applications may provide the 'flexibility' that the Government is offering.
Maintaining frontline services while budgets are reduced is a challenge. This half-day workshop is essential for anyone involved in business improvement. We will discuss the barriers to mobile working as well as showcasing a range of success stories from organisations such as Gateshead Council, Incommunties, Swindon Borough Council and South Tyneside Homes.
Speakers include:
•· Neil Golightly, Business Improvement Manager, Newcastle City Council. Neil has transformed service delivery in Newcastle and will demonstrate how he saved the council time, money and resource.
•· Andrea White, Business Manager (Housing Repairs), Wansbeck Homes. Andrea has successfully implemented TotalMobile for a team of field engineers and discusses the objectives and outcomes of the project.
The event is free of charge and includes lunch and refreshments. To secure your place, please call (028) 9448 0000 or alternatively email me on annemarie.steele@ctechs.co.uk

. Freeing on-call care workers to provide more adult service each day, and allows access to critical patient information, enabling carers to make informed decisions and provide an enhanced service.
Following the success of the Northern Housing Consortium's first MOBex exhibition last year, and in response to demand from exhibitors and delegates, in 2010 we will host a Northern and a Southern MOBex, using two of the most popular venues previously used for HITEX events.
In addition, some of our Members who are already successfully using mobile working solutions will be attending the event, so that the key people responsible for the implementation of their solutions can meet with delegates to offer advice and share good practice.

As the UK faces unprecedented financial constraints in the operation of public services this seminar explores not only the problems that we face but the potential for solutions.
Working together within local government to explore and share solutions is critical. Bringing together key note speakers this seminar also offers the opportunity to network with colleagues facing similar dilemmas and to help identify solutions. Whilst the media focus is on health and education APSE will focus on the services that matter at a doorstep level. Council services such as refuse collection, street cleansing, parks and grounds maintenance, leisure, civic and cultural services, building maintenance, housing, school meals and building cleaning, highways and transport, will all need to continue regardless of the available funds.
Managed transformation of services will require new management skills and leaner systems of work, it will mean getting more bang for the public buck and a concerted effort to ensure as a sector we can punch our weight and realise the upfront investment needed to improve public services.
What is more delegates get their say! All our plenary sessions allow for a panel question and answer session so you can voice your concerns, share your views and solutions with your peers in other authorities. The culmination of the seminar will be our annual service awards 2010 recognising the very best in public services. Priority for the service awards dinner attendance will be given to delegates attending the full
INMOTION, is now in its fourth year and has proven to be an invaluable housing sector event for sharing industry stories and approaches, networking and for access to the latest products and services on offer.
Each year INMOTION brings over a dozen presenters from housing organisations that have delivered dramatic benefits to their customers and associations to share what they have done, what has worked and what mistakes you can avoid. Once again, we have reached out to past delegates to see what topics they would like to see addressed at the 2010 event and we are currently compiling an agenda that covers the following topics: CRM, Partnering, Housing Maintenance, Performance Management, Mobile Working and Housing Policy.
More details for the forthcoming Finance user group will be posted up here in due course.

Following feedback from our delegates & exhibitors at the 2009 event, APSE will be bringing the seminar and exhibition back to the popular Peebles Hydro hotel in 2010. We will continue serving all tea/coffee & lunchtime desserts within the main exhibition area (Ballroom). Only the first two courses of the lunch will be served within the restaurant, this has been a positive move and should once again increase the exhibition viewing by all delegates throughout the duration of the conference. Please note as this is the case exhibition allocation within the Ballroom is on a first come first served basis as a maximum of 23 stands only can be located within the Ballroom, all other exhibitions will be situated within the lounge area of the hotel (opposite the APSE registration desk). With this in mind, as part of the booking form for 2010 please detail your top three preferences of your exhibition allocation from the plan provided (stands are floor space only no shell units). This year's event will once again be opening up to both public & private developers engaged in all types of work relating to the New Build and / or Maintenance of Homes, Schools and Hospitals.
Each year, delegates attend from across every Scottish local authority and engage with a range of suppliers involved in the public sector marketplace. The event attracted over two thirds of all Scottish Councils and has proven to be one of the most successful networking opportunities of its kind.

The Year Ahead for Regulatory Services conference is a partnership between CIEH, LACORS, LBRO and TSI. This key event for all council regulatory services will play an important role in shaping the regulatory services agenda.
Delegates will have the opportunity to hear from speakers on how local authorities can deliver a fundamental service which provides real benefits for local communities and support to local businesses. This important conference offers an excellent opportunity for delegates to learn best practice from high profile industry and council professionals to discuss and debate the key issues facing environmental health and trading standards in, what promises to be, a challenging year ahead.

Focusing on the challenges and solutions specifically around implementing mobile working for the pest control area of regulatory services, this event will feature local authority case study speakers and suppliers ready and able to demonstrate the technology and solutions available. Aimed at sharing learning and providing some down to earth, practical advice and guidance on mobile and flexible working in pest control this is a must attend event for all pest control service members embarking on or considering implementing mobile working.
